Auction #1 - The Lady

The Lady is a collaborative work from local glass artists Melanie Rowe and Malcolm MacFadyen.

Her face was created by Melanie Rowe. Using lost wax casting techniques Melanie originally carved the face as a wax model.
She then invests the wax model in a high temperature refractory. Once this dries the kiln is used to burn out the wax model creating a mold.
Finally molten glass is poured into the mold. While this is happening Malcolm MacFadyen created her body as a long necked vessel. The two parts are
joined hot forming the final sculpture. 12”(31cm) x 3.5”(9cm)

Auction #2 - Feathered plate

A collaborative work between Malcolm MacFadyen and myself. With help from Jomar Sanvictores.

We made this plate during the final demonstration at this year’s Circle Craft Christmas Market. A yellow spiral wrap was applied over the initial
gather. Feathering was applied to the spiral. Then a pickup of blue frit to provide contrasting color.
